IT Park Uzbekistan and IT Park Dushanbe: A New Stage of IT Cooperation

On September 6, 2024, the IT Park Uzbekistan team hosted a delegation from IT Park Dushanbe, led by its director, Temur Khisamutdinov. The primary goal of the meeting was to exchange experiences and strengthen partnerships for the further joint development of the IT industry at a regional level.

The IT Park Uzbekistan team, headed by Deputy Directors Jahongir Rajabov and Makhliyo Mukhsinova, provided the guests with a detailed overview of the technopark’s history, its development, and the government support that has been a key success factor. Particular attention was given to the benefits and preferences offered to IT Park Uzbekistan residents, which open new opportunities for business scaling and international market expansion.

Notably, the Tajik delegation was introduced to programs such as Zero Risk, Local2Global, and Softlanding, which provide significant support to ITes companies from both the government and IT Park Uzbekistan, facilitating their integration into the Uzbek market.

In addition, representatives of IT Park Dushanbe explored Uzbekistan’s experience in developing the startup ecosystem. The guests were introduced to effective mechanisms for acceleration, mentorship, and funding, which enable young companies to grow confidently.

A key focus of the meeting was the role of the One Million Uzbek Coders project in enhancing IT education in the country. This initiative has been instrumental in preparing qualified IT specialists in Uzbekistan for the international market. The participants emphasized the importance of expanding access to educational programs. Currently, through the active involvement of IT Park Uzbekistan in professional development, over 7,000 young talents are successfully employed in the technopark’s resident companies across the regions.

The next step will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will serve as the foundation for long-term cooperation between the two technoparks. IT Park Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive support to its colleagues from Dushanbe, offering expertise and assistance in developing Tajikistan’s IT industry.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to continue collaboration and strengthen partnerships aimed at the joint development of the IT sector in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. This initiative contributes to enhancing Central Asia’s potential in IT and outsourcing, creating favorable conditions for the prosperity of the entire region.
